King James Version
39 And knew not until the flood came,
and took them all away;
so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
40 Then shall two be in the field;
the one shall be taken,
and the other left.
41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill;
the one shall be taken,
and the other left.
42 Watch therefore:
for ye know not
what hour your Lord doth come.
As a baby Christian, I found the above verses the most intriguing of all of Jesus' words.
Because JESUS' words seemed urgent, and imminent.
As if everything -- what was to come after -- hinged on this FIRST occurrence (what theologians call the "Rapture"), for by then, all who will be left behind will go through the horrible seven-year Tribulation.
And thus, there is no time to waste.
We must repent, if we wish to be taken up to Jesus, and avoid that Tribulation.
Matthew 4:17
King James Version
17 From that time
Jesus began to preach,
and to say,
Repent:
for the kingdom of heaven
is at hand.
Imagine this:
You are cooking food for your family, then all of a sudden, one, or two of you, disappear -- just like that.
Or, you're driving a vehicle, or piloting a plane, and people -- either driver or passenger -- start disappearing.
Or, you're holding your baby, and suddenly, your baby disappears.
Can you imagine the scenario in hospitals, or air traffic control towers?
Or even just on the highways.
There have been books and movies made of this scenario.
It is not just a possible scenario.
It is the scenario Jesus said so Himself:
"the one shall be taken,
and the other left"
No one knows the hour of His Coming.
No one knows who will be taken, and who will be left, except GOD.
So, what makes us think that all the wealth we accumulate now, would ever matter?
What makes us think that worldly bickerings matter at all?
It is foolish to hoard, or to be selfish.
It is foolish to be angry, or to be vengeful.
It is foolish to have the world at your feet, and have everyone adore you.
It is foolish to keep sinning.
At any given moment -- in the twinkling of an eye -- each one of us can be gone.
Somehow, I can't even look farther than that moment of Jesus' prophecy.
The fact that one of us would disappear -- at God's choosing -- is truly an eye-opener for me.
Jesus had many warnings of things to come, but many people are asleep, addicted to the things of the world.
We already know who keeps us asleep at the wheel.
We already know who wants us unprepared, for when Christ comes for us.
These dark forces have been mocking Bible prophecy since time immemorial.
People don't light the lamps of their hearts anymore, and are distracted by things of the world.
But, what if, at that exact moment, someone you love or care for, is taken up to Christ?
Surely, you can imagine the chaos, grief, and disaster that would ensue when people are busy at work or at home, and suddenly, God says, "It's time!", and the trumpet is sounded:
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
King James Version
16 For the Lord himself
shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel,
and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain
shall be caught up together with them in the clouds,
to meet the Lord in the air:
and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
We have this moment, this hour, this minute, to start paying attention.
Here's what we can do right now:
Study God's Word.
Let Jesus be our guide.
Study God's Word.
Let Jesus be our guide.
Focus not on how the world is progressing, for in truth, it is regressing.
Salvation is a personal matter, between you and God alone.
You must care enough about your soul, wanting to be with God for eternity.
If you care about others, you'd want them to be with God, too.
It's really very simple, and humbling.
Romans 3:23
King James Version
23 For all have sinned,
and come short of the glory of God;
Is this finite life more delightful, than eternal life promised by Christ?
John 3:16
King James Version
16 For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him
should not perish,
but have everlasting life.
All that matters is if we have accepted Christ in our hearts, by becoming born again.
Its the only way to understand the Gospel of Jesus, for the Holy SPIRIT of God will start instructing us.
In this season of the end times, stay CLOSEST to JESUS.
In this season of the end times, stay CLOSEST to JESUS.
There is no other HOPE, but JESUS.
Titus 2:13
King James Version
13 Looking for that blessed hope,
and the glorious appearing
of the great God and our Saviour
Jesus Christ;
Nothing matters but CHRIST now.
