The Sanctification Process

1 John 1:9
King James Version
9 If we confess our sins,
he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

It's just been nine months since I first accepted and followed JESUS.

In that time, I learned one striking thing --

The ego has gone.

No longer do I hold on to old thoughts, old ways, old habits, erroneous ways, but instead, wish to be corrected by the Bible, and the HOLY SPIRIT -- every step of the way -- JESUS' Way.

Like an eager child, my heart sought GOD's WORD alone.

I am therefore grateful for what my Bible teacher shared.

Here's what he said about the "sanctification process":
--------------------------------------------------------------

Once we become born again, all our sins, past, present, future, are forgiven! In that sense, we are justified and positionally pure, sinless, in God’s sight because Jesus paid the price for all our sins by His death. He died in our place so we may live! Here’s one supporting verse:

Ephesians 2:1
King James Version

2 And you hath he quickened,
who were dead in trespasses and sins;

On another hand, practically or experientially, we cannot completely free ourselves of sin for the rest of our lives. It can be minimized but not completely eradicated. In other words, one cannot attain perfect obedience everyday for the rest of our lives. The best we can do with the help of the Holy Spirit is to live a life of sanctification, where we undergo spiritual growth or maturity day by day until we leave this earth. The sanctification process is achieved by walking in step with Jesus, through God’s Word  The degree of one’s sanctification will depend upon one’s rate of obedience to God’s Word.

For the rest of our lives as born again Christians, the challenge to stay away from sin will always be there. Paul himself had this challenge.

Romans 7:14-25
King James Version

14 For we know that the law is spiritual:
but I am carnal, sold under sin.
15 For that which I do I allow not:
for what I would, that do I not;
but what I hate, that do I.
16 If then I do that which I would not,
I consent unto the law that it is good.
17 Now then it is no more I that do it,
but sin that dwelleth in me.
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,)
dwelleth no good thing:
for to will is present with me;
but how to perform that which is good I find not.
19 For the good that I would I do not:
but the evil which I would not, that I do.
20 Now if I do that I would not,
it is no more I that do it,
but sin that dwelleth in me.
21 I find then a law,
that, when I would do good,
evil is present with me.
22 For I delight in the law of God
after the inward man:
23 But I see another law in my members,
warring against the law of my mind,
and bringing me into captivity
to the law of sin which is in my members.
24 O wretched man that I am!
who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God;
but with the flesh the law of sin.

Of course, Jesus is the solution and verse 25 deals with one’s sanctification process.

Unbelievers have only one nature, the sinful nature, mainly because they don’t believe in Jesus, the gospel, and God’s Word.

1 Corinthians 2:14
King James Version

14 But the natural man
receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God:
for they are foolishness unto him:
neither can he know them,
because they are spiritually discerned.

Born again Christians have two natures, the sinful nature remains but we are now given a divine nature. Because the sinful nature remains, we can still sin, but now that the divine nature is there, we have the ability to defeat sin. This battle between these two natures remains! As Christians we must do our best to put to death our sinful nature during our lifetime.

Note that these verses were addressed to the Colossians, a body of believers, a church. (Not to unbelievers.)

Colossians 3:2-10
King James Version

2 Set your affection on things above,
not on things on the earth.
3 For ye are dead,
and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4 When Christ,
who is our life, shall appear,
then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
5 Mortify therefore your members
which are upon the earth;
fornication,
uncleanness,
inordinate affection,
evil concupiscence,
and covetousness,
which is idolatry:
6 For which things' sake the wrath of God
cometh on the children of disobedience:
7 In the which ye also walked some time,
when ye lived in them.
8 But now ye also put off all these;
anger,
wrath,
malice,
blasphemy,
filthy communication out of your mouth.
9 Lie not one to another,
seeing that ye have put off the old man
with his deeds;
10 And have put on the new man,
which is renewed in knowledge
after the image of him that created him:

Note verse 5, the existence of an earthly or sinful nature.

Colossians 3:5
King James Version

5 Mortify therefore your members
which are upon the earth;
fornication,
uncleanness,
inordinate affection,
evil concupiscence,
and covetousness,
which is idolatry:

-------------------------------------------------------------------

True born-again Christians won't take it personally, being called sinners, for we all are.

Finally, we have a "name" to our "disease".

JESUS did say:

John 8:7
King James Version

7 So when they continued asking him,
he lifted up himself,
and said unto them,
He that is without sin among you,
let him first cast a stone at her.

The moment Eve took a bite of that fuirt, sin was upon us all.

We merely need to open our hearts for correction, and live a life of sanctification.

In this teacher's words: "where we undergo spiritual growth or maturity day by day until we leave this earth".

We really have all help going for us.

In His mercy, GOD gave us Jesus to die for our sins, and as this teacher said, "so we may live!"

This much I can tell you about my own experience.

The moment I feel that my thoughts stray from the LORD, I pray right away, in my own simple, direct, child-like way.

And you know what?

My course, my path, my thinking, is righted IMMEDIATELY!

You can really feel the power of Jesus that way.

And, of course, JESUS asks that we sin no more.

John 8:11
King James Version

11 She said,
No man, Lord.
And Jesus said unto her,
Neither do I condemn thee:
go, and sin no more.

It is Wonderful Being a Born Again Christian

There was a man of the Pharisees,
named Nicodemus,
a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night,
and said unto him,
Rabbi,
we know that thou art a teacher come from God:
for no man can do these miracles that thou doest,
except God be with him.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him,
Verily, verily,
I say unto thee,
Except a man be born again,
he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him,
How can a man be born when he is old?
can he enter the second time into his mother's womb,
and be born?
5 Jesus answered,
Verily, verily,
I say unto thee,
Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit,
he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh;
and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee,
Ye must be born again.
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth,
and thou hearest the sound thereof,
but canst not tell whence it cometh,
and whither it goeth:
so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

John 3:1-8
King James Version

What are your thoughts about being born again?

How do you feel about born-again Christians?

Would you like to know how it feels to be an independent one?

Huh, is there such a thing?

Yes, there is, for I chose to follow Jesus, at my own level of preparedness last year.

I cannot join the LORD, and claim to be His, unless I felt authentic within myself.

For the longest time, a few of my acquaintances, even in the late 80s were trying to convert me.

They almost succeeded, but when I saw how they conducted themselves, I began to be doubtful.

And God, knowing how I am, for He created me, knew that I was going to be His, at a time of both our own choosing.

"And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord,
choose you this day whom ye will serve;
whether the gods which your fathers served
that were on the other side of the flood,
or the gods of the Amorites,
in whose land ye dwell:
but as for me and my house,
we will serve the Lord."

Joshua 24:15 (KJV)

He let me carry on with life, the best and worst way I knew how, and then a day before my last birthday, He knew I was ready for His Son.

The only one who could convert me was God Himself.

He knew I wanted His TRUTH alone.

He knew I searched, long and hard, for His TRUTH alone.

He knew I didn't quite trust man, for we are all fallible, plus we all vacillate between seeming truths, and half-truths.

He knew I'd been praying for the longest time to be shown His TRUTH.

And then, one day, it happened.

He led me to two life-changing videos about America that's falling apart, and selling its soul to the devil.

He knew that would wake up my spirit, to receive His SPIRIT, the Holy Spirit.

He knew that on this latest birthday of mine, I dearly needed to be shown, and taught -- only by Him.

That was exactly what God was waiting for.

After receiving Christ quietly in my heart, no bells and whistles, no formal baptism and all that, I began to receive instruction, and my understanding and writing, blossomed.

It's been over eight months now, and the articles and books keep flowing.

Whenever I'm tired or unsure, I merely pray to Jesus, to please lead the way, and let it only be HIS way.

I set aside self, and let God:

"He must increase,
but I must decrease."

John 3:30 (KJV)

Now, ALL instruction must come from the Holy Spirit alone, for I am a tainted human being.

"John answered and said,
A man can receive nothing,
except it be given him from heaven."

John 3:27 (KJV)

Even being a born-again Christian has its many challenges, maybe even more challenges, because your beliefs will be challenged by many.

You will be mocked, and reviled.

The lords of the earth will pounce upon you, for you have become God's Own.

Jesus did say:

18 If the world hate you,
ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
19 If ye were of the world,
the world would love his own:
but because ye are not of the world,
but I have chosen you out of the world,
therefore the world hateth you.
20 Remember the word that I said unto you,
The servant is not greater than his lord.
If they have persecuted me,
they will also persecute you;
if they have kept my saying,
they will keep yours also.

John 15:18-20 (KJV)

If you are ready to face all that, and to allow only the Holy Spirit of God to teach you, and self is completely set aside, then you are ready to follow Jesus as a true born-again Christian.

Humans love new things, trends, and they form organizations and cliques about it.

I've never really joined any club, now or ever -- what more with matters of God?

For myself, I became a born-again Christian in the simplest manner.

One day, I just knew.

One day, I wanted to follow Christ.

I became more of the child that I already am, but this time, I became even happier, as I hold Jesus' hand each day, and I skip, and hop, by His side, and He looks at me in great amusement.

He knows I dearly wish to know EVERYTHING about Him, and that only He can teach me best.

I am not elitist, but I am precise.

With matters of the soul, and actually most everything else, I wish to be precise.

One wrong thought, or move, and I endanger myself, and others.

I must know ALL about Jesus, before I can share my knowledge with you.

Well, I began reading the Bible -- especially Genesis, the four Gospels, and the Book of Revelation -- in September of last year.

With that reading, came greater understanding.

I allowed the Holy Spirit to teach me, for every man has a different understanding or version of what he may read.

Only by the GRACE of God, and through His Holy Spirit, can we be taught accurately.

I only wanted DIRECT instruction from God.

I think, if you really want to learn about God, you must declare that -- to learn ONLY from God -- directly.

You have to be precise, and particular, because He is.

And I think God likes that.

After all, it is His TRUTH we are talking about.

When you begin to know God's TRUTH, nothing else matters anymore.

More importantly, you begin to see truth, like who God Really Is, Who Jesus Really Is, who the Holy Spirit Is, who we really are, and why the world is the way it is, since God first created us in the Book of Genesis.

Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit to teach us everything:

"But the Comforter,
which is the Holy Ghost,
whom the Father will send in my name,
he shall teach you all things,
and bring all things to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have said unto you."

John 14:26 (KJV)

I am not here to convince you to become a born-again Christian.

Quite a few tried doing that to me.

Only the Holy Spirit of God can "convert" you, when you're good and ready, and perhaps, it may be at the lowest moment in your life, when your heart really seeks THE answers to EVERYTHING.

I am only here to write my own testimony, of how the Spirit of God touched my heart, clarified things through SCRIPTURE, how he had Joseph, a dear friend of mine, coach me about Scripture, and of how Jesus took pity upon my fallen soul, and started instructing me, in EXACTLY the way I desired to be instructed -- by HIM alone.

I am not elitist like the other Christians who tried to convert me.

I have no clique, no club, never had.

I belong to God alone.

P.S. Perhaps, you're wondering why I used an endearing Asian baby -- maybe even a Chinese baby -- as an image for my post? My belief is that we are all children of God, Chinese, Filipino, American, or any race you may be. May the Chinese see that we are also their brothers, and sisters, desiring the freedom God gave all of us, and subject to no man, religion, or race's domination. We forget that, thus, problems ensue. Look beyond race. Of course, when you become God's Own, you will begin to see. I dearly invite you to allow God to help you see, as He has helped me see, until all I could see was GOD.

Honored to be Featured on "The Lamplighter"

I am grateful to Dr. David R. Reagan, of Lamb & Lion Ministries, host of the wonderful "Christ in Prophecy" video channel on YouTube, for featuring me on the January-February 2020 issue of their newsletter.

I am but a baby Christian, but eternally grateful that I have encountered Dr. Reagan, and my Bible teacher, Joseph, through the ministrations of the Holy Spirit.

Through Dr. Reagan's videos on Bible prophecy, I developed a heart and thirst for it, and started reading the Bible in the process.

Then, I began to love Jesus even more, as I started reading His words, prophecies, and instructions.

In my happiness, I began communicating with Dr. Reagan, showing him the many articles I've written about him and his ministry.

When you know you have finally found something you've been searching for all your life -- in my case, the Truth of God's Being -- you can only be supremely jubilant.

I was so happy and excited, that I created this blog you're reading now. Dr. Reagan felt my ebullience, surprising me by asking to interview me for his organization's magazine.

Well, that day is here now, and if you wish to read the wonderful contents of their latest newsletter, as well as take a peek on their post on me, we'd all love it if you would head over to the Lamb & Lion Ministries website, and sign up for the FREE newsletter, too!

In that article I was featured in, I spoke of my transition from being a Catholic, to being born again.

It's under "Discovering Prophecy" -- A Voice From the Philippines.

The downloadable pdf has many Christ treasures in there -- a wonderful end times reference for all who care to know about Bible prophecy and being a Christian in the true sense of the word.

I am honored that I became part of this year's first issue, and I shall continue my own Christ work, too!

Please join Dr. Reagan and his hardworking staff by subscribing to their newsletter, and viewing many important videos on the site.

I also wish to thank you for reading my latest post here, and hoping you make time to connect with Lamb & Lion Ministries.

GOD bless all of you and your families!

Only God is Good

I celebrate my two months as a baby Christian today, the 6th of November 2019.

In that time, I've started really reading the Bible and studying it, taking down notes which have filled three notebooks and used three ballpens already.

And that's only from having read Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, part of Numbers, and the four Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and nearly done with John.

It is no boast, my dear readers.

If the Bible has 66 books and I've only read not even eight, that means I have 58 more books to read.

Long way to go.

It is hard work for I aim to get things accurately about God, Christ, the Holy Spirit, Salvation, Eternal Life, and Bible Prophecy.

I am not a theologian.

I'm just a quiet and independent writer and researcher who has embraced Christ in full as a two-month-old born-again Christian.

I also love God with all my heart and thirst for Jesus' Words.

The Bible has so many beautiful verses from God, Christ, the prophets, and the apostles, but somehow, ONE particular verse really puts things in perspective for me, my life, and my work, and here it is:

18 And Jesus said unto him,
Why callest thou me good?
there is none good but one,
that is, God.

Mark 10:18
King James Version

In so very few words, Jesus reveals His own humility, even as John the Baptist, His beloved cousin and precursor, had this to say about our Savior:

27 He it is,
who coming after me is preferred before me,
whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

John 1:27 KJV

God knows the heart of man. After the Flood, God has this to say about man:

21 And the Lord smelled a sweet savour;
and the Lord said in his heart,
I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake;
for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth;
neither will I again smite any more every thing living,
as I have done.

Genesis 8:21 KJV

Very humbling, isn't it?

But if you can accept our true nature, then you know we all need to be corrected, and that's why we must look to Jesus as our Savior.

If you cannot accept it, then the world is still too much in you.

And you know who rules the world, right?

Check this previous post in case you're not aware.

But all is not lost.

The Bible says that Jesus is the Way to God:

6 Jesus saith unto him,
I am the way, the truth,
and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father,
but by me.

John 14:6 KJV

If you really aim to know Christ, you must lose that ego.

Only Jesus must remain.

Remember this, then:

30 He must increase,
but I must decrease.

John 3:30 KJV

How to Reconcile With God

How does one reconcile with God?

First, we must seek God and truly want Him in our lives:

You will seek me and find me
when you seek me with all your heart.”

Jeremiah 29:13 NIV

Secondly, we must bow to Him in all humility and accept how sinful we are:

for ALL have sinned
and fall short of the glory of God,”

Romans 3:23 NIV

Thirdly, knowing we were born of a sinful nature, we then must sincerely ask for repentance:

This is what the Sovereign LORD,
the Holy One of Israel, says: “
In repentance and rest is your salvation,
in quietness and trust is your strength,
but you would have none of it.

Isaiah 30:15 NIV

Fourthly, we acknowledge the wisdom of being "born again" in Christ and accept Him as our Savior:

You Must Be Born Again

3 Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus,
a ruler of the Jews.
2 This man came to Jesus[a] by night and said to him,
“Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God,
for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.”
3 Jesus answered him,
“Truly, truly, I say to you,
unless one is born again[b] he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
4 Nicodemus said to him,
“How can a man be born when he is old?
Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?”
5 Jesus answered,
“Truly, truly, I say to you,
unless one is born of water and the Spirit,
he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh,
and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.[c]
7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘
You[d] must be born again.’
8 The wind[e] blows where it wishes,
and you hear its sound,
but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes.
So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

9 Nicodemus said to him,
“How can these things be?”
10 Jesus answered him,
“Are you the teacher of Israel
and yet you do not understand these things?
11 Truly, truly, I say to you,
we speak of what we know,
and bear witness to what we have seen,
but you[f] do not receive our testimony.
12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe,
how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things?
13 No one has ascended into heaven
except he who descended from heaven,
the Son of Man.[g]
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness,
so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
15 that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.[h]

For God So Loved the World

16 “For God so loved the world,[i] that he gave his only Son,
that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world,
but in order that the world might be saved through him.
18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned,
but whoever does not believe is condemned already,
because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world,
and people loved the darkness rather than the light
because their works were evil.
20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light
and does not come to the light,
lest his works should be exposed.
21 But whoever does what is true comes to the light,
so that it may be clearly seen
that his works have been carried out in God.”

John 3:1-21 NIV

Fifth, we let God take over our thoughts, words, and deeds for He alone knows what is best for us:

"He must become greater;
I must become less."

John 3:30 NIV

And that takes complete faith in God:

And without faith it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who comes to him
must believe that he exists and that he rewards those
who earnestly seek him.”

Hebrews 11:6 NIV

In truth, God chose us.

He saw what we have in our hearts and thus:

You did not choose me,
but I chose you and appointed you
so that you might go and bear fruit—
fruit that will last—
and so that whatever you ask in my name
 the Father will give you.”

John 15:16 NIV

What now?

We become new in Christ and our lives will have the greatest meaning, in a way the world can never have achieved in us.

Our eternal happiness comes from Christ alone, the Son of the Only Holy Father:

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,
the new creation has come:
The old has gone,
the new is here
All this is from God,
who reconciled us to himself through Christ
and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:
that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ,
not counting people’s sins against them.
And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors,
as though God were making his appeal through us.
We implore you on Christ’s behalf:
Be reconciled to God.”

 2 Corinthians 5:17-20 NIV

I thank Joseph, my Bible teacher friend for supplying the essential verses which completes my new understanding of this relationship I'm having with Christ now.
